The department

Our UK employment team is at the forefront of advising clients on UK and European employment law, with a particular expertise in helping US clients to navigate often very unfamiliar processes.

This team works on employment aspects of complex M&A transactions and reorganisations, both within the UK and cross-border, often coordinating and implementing international advice, as well as advising on senior executive hiring and firing; drafting contracts and employment policies; drafting and enforcing post- termination restrictions; ; and all aspects of general employment advice for our diverse range of clients (from PE and their portfolio companies and start ups to multinational public and private enterprises). The group also represents employers in employment grievances and disputes from prevention and mitigation, through investigations, negotiations and dispute resolution. We work closely with our share incentives team to advise on executive compensation and incentives.

Person Specification

The new hire will join the UK employment team. We are looking for an individual qualified in England and Wales, with 4 – 7 years' relevant post qualification experience in the London market (or experience in a similar common law jurisdiction), although those with less or more relevant experience will be considered on their merits.  The successful candidate will have strong knowledge and experience practicing English employment law, including transactional work, excellent written communication and drafting skills are also required, as well as the ability to demonstrate initiative. They must also possess the skills to take on a high degree of responsibility, be able to lead and provide senior expertise for transactional and advisory work,  coordinate projects and supervise more junior colleagues. A high level of academic achievement is required.
