JOB SUMMARY:
Assist the Knowledge and Training Lead – London, in collaboration with Key Business Services and Legal teams to plan and deliver on the Knowledge priorities for each of the London Practice Groups and the London team.

Focus and key aspects
You will work with the London Knowledge and Training Lead, in close collaboration with the wider Knowledge function, Research & Knowledge Services, Attorney Development, Legal Tech and Innovation & Emerging Tech teams. The role will suit either a graduate seeking to gain knowledge, experience and exposure to all areas of practice within and top-quality firm or a business services professional currently working in legal services seeking a new challenge in a knowledge focused role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Creation, curation and surfacing of priority knowledge and research resources, tools and technology
- Update and maintain Knowledge intranet pages and create new pages and content when necessary.
- In collaboration with Research & Knowledge Services, Attorney Development, Legal Tech and Innovation & Emerging Tech teams, work with Practice Groups, to ensure their key resources are accessible through their dedicated intranet pages and help keep those pages up to date.
- Assist in the maintenance and development of practice area document collections on the intranet, either in database or page form.
- Assist with the audit and review of existing collections of Knowledge documents to identify where updates required.
- Assist with coordinating updates of documents. Including, for candidates with a legal background, legal research to ascertain required updates.
- Help drive collection and curation of key example documents.
- Help to raise awareness of knowledge, research, training, technology and innovation resources and tools available to teams.
Keeping team updated on key legal and market developments
- Prepare, circulate and upload to the intranet, regular updates on key legal and market developments.
Supporting trainee and associate development and queries
- Respond to requests for information and research from all legal staff, particularly in relation to UK precedents and knowledge.
- Collaborate with Attorney Development to support design and implementation of Practice Group legal technical training.
- Assist with the recording of legal technical training, where relevant, and maintain library of seminar recordings online.
- Run knowledge inductions for new joiners to the team.
Alignment and prioritisation of knowledge and training activities
- Keep the Knowledge and Training Lead up to date on your progress and priorities, including through the use of a 6-month plan, to enable them to support you where “stop/start” or re-prioritisation decisions need to be made.
Collaboration (Knowledge, Research and Knowledge Services, Attorney Development, Legal Tech, Innovation and Business Development)
- Assist with the planning and organization of meetings/events for the London Knowledge community together with the above functions, as appropriate.
- Collaborate with the above teams, as necessary, to deliver on the London Knowledge and Training plan.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER JOB-RELATED COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Legal qualification at degree level, such as a law degree or law conversion course, or experience of working in a legal services business.
- Postgraduate legal or research qualification preferred but not essential.
- Legal research experience preferred.
- Interest in professional support, knowledge sharing and legal technology required.
