The Role

JOB SUMMARY:

Supports the European BD & Pursuits Leaders, focused on our business development projects, systems/processes and collateral. This includes supporting on new business pitches and associated client-facing materials, client presentations, attorney bios and professional photos, managing all aspects of the matter data capture process, and an in-depth understanding of the key Marketing systems (Foundation, InterAction, Dashboard etc) to assist members of the European Marketing team with related projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Reporting into the European BD & Pursuits Leaders, assist in creating compelling marketing materials for new business pitches and other business development purposes, including attorney biographies/photos, matter data and capability descriptions, and up-to-date accolades and recognition content.
  • Ensuring all European pitch data is up-to-date and correct in the InterAction database and supporting the Marketing Project Managers in drafting pitch alerts. This includes ensuring outcome information is tracked.
  • Ensure all relevant matters/deals are added with comprehensive information to the deal/matter tracking database (Foundation) and disseminated to other team and department members effectively.
  • Creates, manages and takes responsibility for the quality of all Attorney bios across Europe, working closely with the attorneys, the relevant secretaries and relevant Marketing team members. Responsible for achieving 'first day' bio status for all partner and counsel new joiners, within 48 hours for associates.
  • Assists the European Marketing Manager and other team members with ad hoc business development research and client intelligence projects using the key Marketing systems, such as Skadden's client information system[Dashboard], LinkedIn, Mergermarket People Moves and CapitalIQ.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Ability to manage projects independently from initiation through to completion
  • Knowledge of standard office computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems (e.g., Interaction, Foundation and InDesign)
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrates close attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities, sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree-educated or equivalent
  • Law firm experience preferred but not required.
