JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a talented and motivated PR & Communications Specialist to join our team in London. The candidate will have at least three years of experience in public relations, with a preference for those who have worked within a law firm. Working closely with the Assistant Director of Communications and the wider Marketing team, this role will focus on external PR for specific practice areas across London. It will involve close collaboration with our US colleagues as well as PR agencies in Europe to ensure a coordinated approach to PR globally.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Working with the Assistant Director of Communications in London, develop and implement PR strategies to enhance the visibility and reputation of Skadden's London office practices and partners (in alignment with our global strategy).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Firm to drive participation in communication opportunities and gain support for them.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts in the legal and business sectors.
- Identify and secure opportunities for media coverage, and facilitate interviews, articles, and features.
- Prepare spokespeople for media interactions, including drafting talking points and conducting media training.
- Develop compelling content for various communication channels, including press releases, articles, and social media.
- Collaborate with other internal teams to gather information and insights for content development.
- Monitor media coverage and manage media inquiries.
- In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Communications, work closely with PR agencies in Europe to coordinate and execute PR campaigns.
- Assist in the planning and execution of PR events, such as media briefings and industry events.
- Coordinate logistics and manage event-related communications.
- Track and analyze the effectiveness of PR campaigns and initiatives.
- Prepare regular reports on PR activities and outcomes for senior management.
- Stay updated on relevant industry best practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum of three years' experience, including writing for a range of platforms (e.g., publications, social media, thought leadership, media announcements).
- Prior experience in either journalism, a PR agency, a PR team in a law firm, or professional services preferred.
