JOB SUMMARY:
You'll be responsible for managing an alert system that tracks key clients and targets, helping us stay informed, spotting opportunities and proactively providing marketing intelligence to key stakeholders. Reporting into the Associate Director for Business Development & Marketing (BDM) you'll work alongside our business development team and practice leads to identify new opportunities and research market trends. We would like this role to help refine our processes and suggest best practice, but this role will also work closely with the Global Strategic Intelligence team. Your analytical skills will be essential in benchmarking against competitors and supporting our practice initiatives. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work closely with the Associate Director of BDM, partners and BD to grow and develop existing client relationships, and target new clients through our focussed targeting programmes.
- Establishes and manages a comprehensive alert system to track key clients and targets.
- Researches and shares insights with partners and BD leads and suggests actionable next steps.
- Collaborates with the practice business development lead to monitor promising opportunities and identify potential clients and targets.
- Researches and prepares company profiles including information on company operations, connections to key senior management and board, analysis of deals and litigation activity, and recent news.
- Benchmarks current positions versus competitors through analysis of league tables, corporate transactions, litigation events and even recent legal industry news.
- Monitors and analyses new developments in various industries and geographic regions using internal and external data sources.
- Research and insight into sectors and growth areas for the firm, identifying where best to prioritise our BD efforts to increase workflow.
- Spot trends and provide actionable insights to the firm.
- Use data visualisation skills in order to tell stories with data.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
- Manages Firm resources responsibly.
- Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER JOB-RELATED COMPETENCIES:
- Proficient using full MS Suite with intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, look-ups, etc.)
- Ability to synthesize, interpret and summarise information and datasets from various sources in a clear, concise manner
- Numerical and ideally, statistical fluency
- Understanding of data, data organisation and data management
- Proficient in using data capture tools
- Takes ownership for significant portion of projects and generate action-oriented insights and recommendations
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deliverable deadlines and display sound judgement, particularly with sensitive and confidential information
- Self-starter capable of working independently as well as within a team and comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to change
