JOB SUMMARY:
We are recruiting a Senior Business Development and Marketing Manager (Senior BDM Manager) to help drive forward the strategy and business plan of the Financial Institutions Group.This candidate will sit in, and work with the BD and Marketing team in EMEA, based in London but tasked with supporting the growth of the global Financial Institutions offering.
The practice is renowned for advising on international and domestic mergers, acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and strategic reinsurances in transactions involving financial sponsors and their in-house (re)insurers, asset managers, portfolio companies and other private capital-owned vehicles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Senior BDM Manager will work with a small group of market-leading partners, developing exceptional relationships to support them in their delivery of the BD and Marketing plan.
The key responsibilities of this role may include some or all of the following:
Practice/sector development and business planning
- Work with the partners to drive the development and implementation of the BD strategy
- Proactively look for opportunities to grow and diversify the practice offering, monitoring the market and competitors to ensure we are ahead of the curve
- Ensuring that we are visible and present in the markets we wish to be visible in
- Being a vocal and active member of the BD and Marketing team, staying connected with activity across the firm and sharing best practice
Pitching and proposals
- Lead on all pitching opportunities including designing market leading responses to promote the practice and our key selling messages to secure new mandates
- Develop a suite of materials to succinctly and visually sell the firm’s value proposition
- Monitor and track practice credentials and ensure we are presenting our capabilities externally to further promote our offering
- Consistently bring innovative approaches in pitching to differentiate the firm from competitors
- Proficient in using marketing tools and CRM systems to track and analyse campaign
Client targeting and development
- Provide focus to new client acquisition initiatives including the identification of appropriate targets and ensuring we have action plans to deliver on those targets
- Implement a sales pipeline approach to our targeting efforts, taking the lead on organising our plans and encouraging the development of client relationships
- Identify opportunities from firm clients to cross-sell to and from the financial institutions practice
- Bring a client first and client management approach to a small number of select clients to support their growth and expansion, growing our share of wallet
Campaigns, content and marketing
- Working with the partners, counsel and associates to identify and develop pertinent issues around which to focus our BD activity
- Supporting the development of marketing and content materials across the practice
- Bring a campaign approach to the content produced whilst identifying the most appropriate distribution channel(s) for content and to advise on strategies to ensure that the maximum possible R.O.I is achieved performance and spot lead generation opportunities
